More than 20 Letters of Interest were received from Maine Educators during this year's STEM4ME grant cycle. Over a four week period involving email and phone communication with applicants, this number was reduced to the final group of six funded projects.

This year's grants focus on sustainable energy and food growth, reflecting the interest by educators in Maine to encourage their students to learn and apply STEM principles in these vital areas.

The Challenger Learning Center program will expose students in the lower grades to activities that involve building and programming with WeDos, providing an opportunity for hands on learning and cooperative poblem solving at an early age.
